I'm starting a search for a trim/tilt unit that will work on a '67 100hp Johnson. I found a few on ebay but they don't state the year etc and are sorta sketchy on their details. I found a used boat that has a non running '73 115 Johnson with a working unit on it and was wondering if it would fit the '67. I'm not opposed to do some field engineering to make it work.

Cal if you don't get an answer here you might try the "Evinrude & Johnson Outboards" forum on Facebook. Seems to be some fairly knowledgeable folks dropping by there, (as well as your obligatory boneheads).

Thanks for the info Mark, I put in a request to join the group. Looks like a fun page :)

I sent a mail to Jim Andros who had an ad in the glassifieds for old NOS OMC parts. Ad was from June of last year so I don't know if I'll get any answers.

Thanks Jim, it was worth a shot for me. I'm pretty sure I'll make an offer on the old boat I'm looking at on Monday. If the gods are smiling I'll land the unit. From pictures it looks like it will work, kinda looks like a bolt on unit that sets on the outside brackets of the actual transom motor mounts.

Cal, I have a trim tilt setup that is supposed to be for a 60? Rude. I will pull it out and post some pics for you. Skip.

Skip, thanks. I don't know how the tilts are rated for lifting power, torque?? I'm checking out the lift that's on a 115 Rude this week. Will probably be parting out a complete boat again. Owner says the 73 Rude is a non runner, elec problems but says it has 150 compression in all four, manual shifter and all parts are there. Maybe I can get that baby running and have a "spare" :S

Mark, I think we are now official facebook friends

Here's a PT&T unit up north Cal, maybe something you could "re-design"?

Mark, I mailed the person to see if they could provide a model number or some other ID. Looks like it might work. I see it was posted in the Minn area but doesn't zackly say where.

Cal, is this the unit you are looking for? This is the early unit and a couple of brackets. I don't know if the brackets are the ones you need.

Skip, thanks for digging that up. I don't know if that will really fit, brackets are different from anything I've ever seen. The tnt is on hold for the time being, other issues keep getting in the way. I'll keep that in mind. Would that unit be strong enough for the 100hp old timer?
