The magneto on my 59 Fatty is from a 75 hp. In the picture you can see that the part that the switch is mounted to is missing. For piece of mind can someone who can please measure the distance from the outside of the first hole to the mark shown in the picture. I think it is timed right but want to be sure.

I had her out twice this week and she really screams at wot but still stumbles a bit at low idle.

This free boat has turned out to be free after all.

Thank you John. Part of the reason the previous owner quit using the boat was it wasn't running right. The picture shows how it was timed when I got it. When I tuned it, I timed correctly one tooth to the right. This reference point sure helps since I don't have a mark.

You can PM me with what you have for sale. A new one might not be a priority right now but a deal is a deal.

Now back to the lake!

After looking things over this morning and timed at the 4 1/4" reference mark the points adjustment screw is partially hidden through the access hole. Am I over thinking?

The points are not open when #1 is at the end of its stroke.

Should I be looking for the 50 hp timing mark instead or are they the same?
