TOPIC: Tank questions

Got 2 free gas tanks from a co-worker both look like mercury tanks. Questions I have the one has a standard treaded coupler on top and other has what looks like a single straight line conector. Now the one I treaded on the evinrude fitting no problem but other is casted as one. Should I find a differnt pickup? Also both are very clean inside but are missing the mesh on the end of the tube. What can one do to fix this? Also the clear plactic gauge sight is so discolor you can't read it is there a fix to this also?

Upon looking around it looks like if I buy just the fitting for the mercury I can tread on a omc barb on the end of that to make it work. But still wondering about the sight for fuel level and the end of the tube filter.

I run the Johnson and the Merc both off of the Merc tanks like you have. I just put a merc end fitting on the tank end and a omc fitting on the engine side. I too am looking for a filter for the pickup and a gasket for the pick up. My sight glasses are the same as yours.
