The tilt and trim is malfunctioning on our 77 Johnson 115. In order to service the pump. I removed upper tilt line assembly, the tilt band and the tilt band nut from the upper side of the tilt cylinder. Then I read directions which say not to remove this end of the line assembly from the upper side of the tilt cylinder. How do I correctly reattach the line to the upper side of the cylinder?

The parts I reference are as follows.

Tilt cylinder 172840
upper Tilt line assembly 172838
Tilt line band 122527
Tilt band nut. 122528

Thank you,

Randy

ps:

The motor is on a 77 Glastron Carlson CVX 16. The boat, trailer and motor have been repainted, The upholstery, gages, steering wheel, steering cable, emblems, and dash board have been replaced.
