Has anyone installed a warning buzzer on their older outboard for a hot engine indicator? I'm thinking of this in addition to the warning light that's already there.

In the early 1970's OMC realized that not many folks look at their control box beside them to monitor the red light.----They switched over to an audible alarm in the box in 72 I believe.
Any 12 volt buzzer of your choice can be wired in to the existing light.

Somebody had cut the warning buzzer and neutral safety switch out of the control box on the Evinrude, so I put one of these in the dash - wired it back to the control box;

Mark,that looks like it would do the job, but would like to keep my original "HOT" light also.

My two buzzers Mark recommended came today and I got one on the crestliner already.Works great,Mark! I'll do the other one on the other boat tomorrow.Thanks,jim
