Funny thing is, a new 40hp Evinrude is even bigger & heavier!

I wonder why he's not asking "7 or 8 hundred bucks" if he thinks it's worth that much? It's not even worth that much in parts!

If he ever saw a '58 fat 50 or a 75 he'd think it was humongous LOL.

Jim, your right. He'd probably pass out! LOL. Maybe we should send him a pic or two. ;)

Funny how people who don't deal with items have a different perception. My Ex-Wife was obsessed with using common hardware as decorations. To me, it just looked like a spilled tool tray on the dining room table. LOL

When I saw "huge boat engine" I'm thinking the bit from the movie Titanic in the engine room with the connecting rods 50 feet tall.

Neil,

fwiw, i recently sold a 1965 Electric start V-4 Johnson that took 4 of us "geezers" to unload out of my pickup, carry it over to the buyer's SW & re-load it.
(That OB seemed to out-weigh a BUICK!)

I wonder what the fellow from Spokane would say about that monster???

yours, satx

Here's the engine for the Costco Longbeach 95,000 HP. At 1:29, you can see the mechanic just chillin' out in the crankcase - below one of the crankpins.

In the younger days I would carry that "huge" engine down my basement steps for winter storage, 50 years ago. Now I have to use a chainfall to lift the dern things. We should all send him pics of fat 50's or maybe the meteor 100 I have sitting on a stand in the garage.
