TOPIC: Evinrude 35 HP Lark 1957 throttle cable problem

Evinrude 35 HP Lark 1957 throttle cable problem 12 years 5 months ago #65141

So if anyone has 'how to connect the throttle cable to shifter on the outboard 101' I am interested. I am not a knowledgeable motor guy but any help is awesome thanks.

Motor runs fine in a tank, completely checks out. But while running on the water, shifting from neutral to gear is a bit sticky. And the big problem is I get kind of chugging (like slipping back into neutral for a second, but not). And don't think I can get full throttle at all.

Marina guy advice was 'its the clutch dog', but good motor guy says no, I would have different issues if that was the case and I vote for the motor guy.

Any tricks, best setting or advice on how to exactly attach the throttle cable (which is new, by the way). Thanks for your thoughts.
