I just bought a johnson 6 hp he did it perfectly but did not have compression on one cylinder I bought a new head gasket want to start and really did nothing except for an huge bang in the exhaust I think. And I also bought a new cylinder head because something broke

I hope someone can help

A big "bang" usually means you've got your plug wires crossed. The one with the small tab on the wire goes to top. Lacking the tab, the FRONT coil fires the TOP cylinder.
