Can someone please post a pic of the electric choke linkage on a 58 evinrude starflite 50?
My linkage is missing and pics in repair manual are not good at all. Thanks!

Curse, try the link below. It's to my fat fifty hot rodding thread and I have a few pics there that may help.

I didn't see a good enough pic to see the setup, is it just springs for the linkage or solid rods? My choke plunger moves down but other linkage is not attached so it does not operate the butterfly.

The link you posted has been bookmarked for later reading, nice write-up!

Yes there should be a solid rod coming out of the the solenoid. I'll try and take a pic of it tomorrow since the boat is in the shed.

Curse,
Here are the pics as promised.

Hope that helps. That's the best I could do since the boats up on blocks in the shed and I'm a little vertically challenged (5'7") so I had to shoot without really looking when taking the one from the front.

Thanks Bob!

Looks like i'm missing the manual choke pull and it is a spring that operates the butterfly.

if you're in need of the parts, i've got a full powerhead with carbs and all just sitting out in the garage. i could pull whatever you need off of it.

here's what i've got set aside. there's also a rubber grommet that goes in the hole in the bracket where the choke pull goes through. it is to keep the handle from banging against the bracket. i see in your pic that you don't have it, and neither did Waterwings' pic. i tried to pull mine out to send along as well, but it was so dry rotted that it fell to pieces. there's nothing special about it really, and i'd imagine that you could find one at a hardware store. You'll also need a small cotter pin to hold the handle in. Mine broke when i removed it.

i posted here when i remembered that i can't send pics over PM. send me a message if you still need the parts.

Thanks
Chris
