1964 Johnson 75hp motor. not running, but no seized. electric shift lower end. appearance-wise, in good shape.

trying to sell it locally and have no idea as to what kind of ball park figure i should ask for it. i know prices vary from day to day and region to region, but can y'all give me a basic idea? $50? $250? i have no idea what they're worth.

Thanks

If it has controls, has good compression in all four holes and could, reasonably, be made a runner with basic tune-up stuff, I'd say you're looking at $150-$300 depending on cosmetics. The demand for the old Johnrude V4s isn't huge - they're large, heavy for the power, drink gas like it's still 50¢ per gallon, and the electric shift units don't instill great confidence on some buyers (even though it is a sound system if you keep the water out of the unit).

Good luck!

I just sold my 1963 Evinrude 75hp Starflyte for $75. Solid motor with 95+ compression in all four, all electrical, key, lights, starter box. Even delivered it 120 miles away from home. Had it on craigslist for a bunch of weeks. Not even any takers for parts. Had parts listed on ebay with some looks but no watchers.
Good Luck.
If the price is right it will sell.
