Not bite too hard please! ;)

Do I need a instaler on my outboard? What benefits has this instaler? ..............My motor is a Johnson 55 Hp short foot sea horse in 1979......... I have the throttle and engine controls...... I found the stock at a guy who has recovered from a legacy familly and was not expensive ....
My boat is here in this post www.fiberglassics.com/glassic-forums/2-main-forum/52323-new-here.html and thank you in advance for your help. :)

These units were never made to be used with a short shaft 55 HP motor.
But with enuff time , patience and money I suppose you could do something to make it fit !!

If I understand it is better that I look for another solution. Just put my engine 55HP Johnson Sea Horse on my boat and it will be much like that right?

Do you have a " running / tested motor " ????
A short shaft motor mounts on a 15" high transom.
If your transom is 20 " high then there may be problems trying to install a short shaft.

No I missed the starting electrical connection of the instrument panel that connects to the red plug into the engine. I am afforded an opportunity for Started but did not because it does not seem to be the right connections. The specialist who sold it to me wants to meet me in mid January and will check if my connections are correct and will be tested to try the starter.
The pr.c.dant owner commissioned a development 3 years ago at his local dealer that cost him $ 500 and has not used since.
I actually removed the spark plugs and they are brand new, and other pieces ...

Is that the transom is the rear part of the boat?
