TOPIC: Golden Javelin SURVIVOR

Golden Javelin SURVIVOR 13 years 1 month ago #50781

This engine is completely original. The guy in town that I got it from was in the process of parting it out on eBay. I got him to pull down all his auctions early - not one single part was sold thank god. Everything is accounted for - every bolt & nut. I'll have to replace the exhaust tower gasket and the carburator gasket. Everything else is there & perfect. The engine is pristine - just taken apart. This thing has just a season or two of use. It was stored awa for over 40 years. It was a running motor when the guy took it apart. Can you imagine? I'm putting it back together just as it is. I waxed the hood & put it in my living room. And yes, I paid dearly for it.

I've parted out some junkers on eBay over the years, but pristine originals? That's nuts!!

Nice save & score, Bruce! I'm guessing the guy (PO) was going for maximum $ by parting it out ? Awesome that you caught him before any of it got away.
