So what do you all think? Best looking Evinrude ever? I'm partial to the 59 Lark & Starflite, but there may be other contenders. Some of the old all metal ones have some merit as well.

Just Evinrudes though! I you want to talk Johnsons, or alternative branded OMCs, start another thread please. Mainly because it is hard to compare some of the fancy 50's Johnson Javelins with the more conservative Evinrude styling. I think Johnson deserves its own thread if Johnson owners are so inclined.

I have a real liking for 1973.
I can't wait til I get enough ambition to get my 9.5 restored to match.

57 and 58 Evinrudes gave me my first ski pulls in 1957-58 as I was learning to ski. Both models of these Evinrudes were beautiful to me!!!

I prefer the the '61 Larks and Starflites. They look so classy with the dark motor and white accent with gold trim and a dash of red.

With the exception of 58, which I always thought looked like thye couldn't really decide what design to go with, (or they spent all their time designing the Johnson Javelin that year ;) )I like over a decade of Evinrudes from 56 to 69. I seem to like the 2 cylinder designs better than the 1960's V4s. I think because there was a little room to play with making the shroud a little bigger on the 2 cylinders to allow for design, where as the V4 was already so big, adding any extra to the shroud would not make sense. I do like the pointed tail on my 1961 Starflite 75.

The 1961 Starflite will be getting a new home. Moving from a 1960 Larson Sea Lion open runabout to a 1960 Larson Sea Lion Cruiser.

I like them all for 1 reason or another, but I do like the ones painted all white with the wood grain front panel. I do own some but none of those
. I do still have
1939 3.3 sportsman
1956 3hp weedless
1959 10hp golden jublie
1968 18hp fastwin
1973 115hp
