TOPIC: OMC Steering Rack question?

Does anybody have an exploded view of the OMC steering rack that was used in oh, say a 73 Glastron Starflite they would share? I'm familiar with the early Ride-Guide rack, and this looks very similar but just a little different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OMC had 2 different types of steering systems that they marketed for their stringer I/Os, but I am unaware of them ever marketing an O/B steering system.

Back in '73, Glastron installed the steering system & the dealer installed the motor. I would guess you have an old Teleflex or Morse system.

I'll crawl up under the dash later and get some pics, Jim. I was sure I saw the OMC emblem, could be wrong though!

My '71 has a Teleflex rack unit that I believe to be origional.

I tried to get some pics (on my head under the dash!) but they aren't focused enough to make out the logo. duh Guess I'll have to pull the unit out and check it out then. Reason - feels like a lot of "play" before the rack moves the cable, wondering if (if it's like the ride-guide unit) the nut securing the cable to the rack has backed off? Make any sense?

Mark, that 73' Evinrude catalog I am going to scan has an ad in it about their new steering system. You might find it interesting.
Hopefully my scanner will hold out, or I will buy a new one.
