I put it in storage four years ago after replacing two coils and getting it running well. Put it on my Fabuglas today and I don't even get a burp. Spins over fine though. Sun's too bright to tell if I have spark. Any suggestions for something to check in the tropical sun?

If you use a " spark checker " set at 7/16" gap you could certainly see it or hear it if you had spark. Were the carburetors drained when it was put away ???
Using freshly mixed fuel ???---What happens when you spray a bit of mixed fuel into the carburetors ???
Is the choke activating ???

Yep, start with the basics. Spark, fuel & compression. After sitting for four years, my bet is on fuel system...

No spark. Which terminal on the ECU should be hot when I turn the ignition on?

The ignition system is run by the magneto and the battery is only used to crank the motor over.
So when you turn the key " ON " nothing shows up on the powerpack ( ECU ???? )
Nothing as far as voltage from the battery is concerned !!!

The power pack is powered by the magneto, not the battery?? So this motor should hand crank with a completely dead battery?
OK; my controls have no safety lanyard feature. What should I be looking for to cause no spark. Motor ran fine when I put it up four years ago. To be more specific, which terminal should I check for cranking ignition primary voltage? (As for the term ECU, ECU or ECM has pretty much universally become the standard term to identify all ignition system controllers since the demise of points; obviated by your readily calling my attention to the proper outboard name. Thanks!)

Motor will start ( armstrong starter method )and run with a completely dead battery in the system !
Check OHMS on charge coils and sensor coils under the flywheel ( flywheel does not need to come off )
A 2 or 3 cylinder motor ??.

Three cylinder 75, 1976 model. I'm reading 80-90 volts on the magneto side of the power pack, and nothing on the coil side. Which wire is the kill switch wire?

Black with yellow stripe
remove it from powerpack and see if there is spark.
The " powerpack " is a simple ignition unit and does not respond to any sensor inputs like the ECU / ECM on a motor vehicle.
It was far advanced in its day.

I traced the kill wire to the black/yellow wire, removed it, and she cranked right up. Runs good at part throttle, idles well, but won't keep idling without quitting.

Also discovered the fuel pump diaphram had disintegrated, so that probably means I'll have to completely clean and flush the fuel lines and carburetors.

If I had money, I wouldn't be working on this old looper!

The kill switch wire took care of the ignition problem, then I found that the fuel filter had disintegrated, so I removed and cleaned the carbs and made new fuel lines. Gotta pick up a fuel filter before starting again.
UPDATE: picked up fuel pump kit at local auto parts jobber and rebuilt pump. Hooked up fuel tank and fired it up. Runs fine. Probably could stand a tuneup, but it'll do for now. I've got a bunch of rattle can paint and a spare impeller, so I'll paint it and replace the impeller.

Looks like a " salt water special "
You do have the bits that go in front of the carburetors I hope.
