I was thinking about using a heat gun to make the boots more flexible and maybe some dielectric grease for lube. Does anyone have any tricks or procedures to get the job done? vintagerunner Offline Expert Boarder Posts: 267 Karma: 18 Thank you received: 1	dielectric grease or a little shot of WD-40 i have used in the past.. but if the rubber is really stiff...a trick I use on air tools for installing the tight rubber boot covers is to soak them in hot water to soften them up.. Use a plyers to push the pointy end of the spring through the wire and then pull the wire back through until the spring is in position. Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic.
