Looking at a 1984 Evinrude 15. It's a long shaft and I'd like to shorten it. If it was bought new as a long shaft do they have a 5 inch extension shaft in them or do I have to look for another shaft?

You may have already got your answer but I thought I would show you the drive shaft from a long shaft 15hp OMC. Note it is one piece, no extension shaft. You will need the particular short shaft part.
