O K, time to ask a stupid question . If your boat sets in a heated basement all winter ,do you still need to fog it.

yes, jim. if your not going to start it every week the cylinders will dry off. fog it with a lot of oil and put oil in the spark plug holes and crank it over. leave the plugs loose to clean out the oil in the spring. and I would put stabilizer in the fuel. just my thoughts. greg

Sounds like good advice ,Greg. I have squirted some oil in the cylinders(when I'd remember to) in the past. I have already changed the foot oil plus put a new prop shaft seal on. I'll pop out the plugs and give them a squirt.

If you go out on the lake early some mornings there might be enough mist/fog. Just do a good run.

Other than that, ditto on what Greg wrote. I too store in a heated garage but I don't "fog" the engine running, I just do the spark plug fogging oil in the cylinders and turn it over a few times but I do add StaBil marine to the gas. Last year I had an old motor with stuck rings with low compression, sprayed fogging oil and sea foam in the cylinders and let it sit over winter, by spring everything was free with high compression.
