TOPIC: throttle adjustment

throttle adjustment 9 years 4 months ago #113919

I put a new control box and cables on my RDS-25D. And I decided to look at the position of the butterfly plate @ full throttle. It was not opening all the way, so I adjusted the sliding stop on the linkage so it was 100% open at full throttle. Then I noticed that at full aft throttle the butterfly is open about 3/16 in at the top. This does not seem to be normal. also the slow / fast pointer on the port side of motor does not go all the way from pointing at slow or fast, a little between them both. The idle adjust just aft of the pointer is broke and binding, I'm soaking it in PB Blaster. Maybe heat a screwdriver and melt a new slot in the top of plastic stem? If I can accomplish this, could I close the butterfly plate by adjusting this?
