TOPIC: leaking lower unit.

Ive got a 62 40hp super quiet. some one replaced the electric wires going to the lower unit( eletic shift) thay did not seal the wires going through the lower case very well. and water leaks in to the lower unit. how can I seal them where thay go through. its like 2 number 12 wires going through a 7/16 hole. I tried silicone but it was not compatable with the oil any ideas? thanks Bob
