OK, is it just me? Trying to order parts, for '55-'64 JRude's. I find floats on marinengine.com, but no tune up kits...just points, condenser's etc. listed separately. Iboats has tune up kits, but no listings for floats on earlier motors... Am I missing it...? It would be nice to save on shipping to order everything from one place...???

It is rare to find "one stop shopping" for vintage outboards. Vintage Carb floats are much harder to source than other "tune up" parts. SeaWay Marine in Seattle WA is a good place to get parts, as they are one of the largest holders of NOS parts in the US. NAPA Auto Stores carry a wide selection of Sierra Marine parts, but even then - getting everything needed for a particular model is nearly impossible. Frankly, I think everyone should be very thankful that repair parts are still available for these - even if they must be sourced from different places. I always keep my eye out for NOS parts on Ebay, and I pick them up "here and there" as they will eventually be needed. It's smart to always have a little stash of repair parts for a vintage motor, as some of these parts can be extremely hard to source.

Oh, I am glad that parts are readily available, and I usually buy extra stuff. It does help that OMC stuff is so interchangeable. Same coils for 3hp to 40hp from '52 to '72, and tune up kits are almost exactly the same. Only 2 different floats needed for 3hp to 40hp, that's amazing... Probably why there are so many vintage OMC motors still around...
