I'm looking over this motor that I recently bought, and I have a question or three. I bought an Evinrude 3 cyl service manual but it leaves some subjects untouched. I'll be swapping this motor to another hull, and I'd like to know if the attached photos show the lifting points to lift the entire motor off the transom. The manual mentions a lifting fixture but doesn't seem to illustrate it. I'm doubtful that they would make lifting points in an alloy block but that u-shaped ring sure was put there for something.

Also, the motor seems to run great but I'm sure I'll need to replace the impeller and rebuild the fuel pump. What would you consider the best parts source for this motor? I'll need to deal online for parts, no dealers anywhere near me.

That IS the "lifting ring" you're looking at Norm, no worries it will be fine to lift the motor. Another "user friendly" design by OMC!

I prefer to call Joe at Ferguson Poole Marine, very competitive and will ship anywhere. But you can always use www.marineengine.com which will give you the O.E. part numbers as well as the Sierra part numbers on most items (with pricing, of course). Just a couple options......

Thanks Mark. I replied to your post yesterday but today my reply is gone. (or I hit the wrong key when posting). :)
I'll check with Joe.
