Mike the bottom plug is the number one plug. The timing marks on the flywheel align with the "V" at the bottom of the lifting eye.

Hey thanks I have it right. Some thing does not line up on the timeing it shows it 25 degrees advance and cant get it to come back to 8 degrees. Will be out checking again today and see if I can figure it out.I'm not a dumby when it comes to old car motors just don't like the new ones. Plus need to get some pix up of the motor.

Flywheel may not be installed correctly. They are not keyed, only the taper holds them. The end of the crank has line on it from the center out to the flywheel nut. That line should be in line with the V notch. Now if it's correct the flywheel should show TDC, if it's not you need to remove the flywheel and set it so everything is aligned.

Thanks

Ok now to check the flywheel. Just what I love pulling a flywheel if I have to.
