Hi All;
Got my 62 Homelite powered pontoon back in the water for another season.
Changed the lower unit oil , motor oil and replaced the bridge rectifier. The first one blew after the fire. (No comment)
This is fused. What was I thinking? Wasn't.
I plan on wiring a tach and ampmeter to it also. I have the gauges it is just a matter of installing them.
Going to replace the speakers and the wires too for the stereo.
It seems to be charging. I have a fishfinder with a voltmeter on it. The voltage reading goes up a little when I run her Rs" up.
Right now it is wired up on low. I might connect the other wire if the low setting doesn't charge enough. B)

First grin of the morning, we all have our "Bonehead" moments Dave! Glad to see you're back on the water. ;)

Thanks guys. I usually learn the hard way.
Had to change the cam twice. The rotor would break and jam the dist. That would make the cam drive key snap.
Had the old style metal cam key drive . Now I have the newer style cam with replaceable nylon ones. Thanks to Bill R.
Found out what caused it. The dist cap hold down clips were sprung and didn't hold the cap down tight. Hence movement of cap and then the rotor would hit the contacts wrong and jam enough to break it.
Wonderd how those brass shavings got in there.
So make sure your dist cap is held in tight.
Learn by doing. :blush:
