A friend who was a Homelite Bearcat dealership owner sold his HydroSwift with twin low hour Bearcats years back upon retirement.
Well he bought the boat back and we're freshening up his twin Bearcats.
Here's a pic with the cowling off on port side.
Notice that he replaced his fuel pump with electric, and that this is a very late motor with the Bosch starter and large coil, no hi/low switch either.
You could eat off that puppy.

I don't want to eat off that puppy. I want it to follow me home.
Those motors are real sweet.
Bill, Have fun freshening them up.
Spotted a Fiberglassic cruiser powered by a 58 Fat Fifty very near me. Don't know make of boat yet.
Going to investigate further. Also know where there is a Monkey Wards cruiser powered by a 80hp made by West Bend. B)

Someday I would like to ride in one with duel engines. My '65 was real clean under the hood, seems like all my others have rust places especially around the soft plugs and these also have silicone smeared on them. Cosmetically the first one I bought, a '70 has the nicest in overall appearance, It still has good decals for block drain and oil drain. It's drawback from original is the white "A" block I had to use.

Nice looking pair of engines Bill!

Could have bought a '58 Fat fifty near me a couple weeks ago Dave for $50. Good compression, controls, cables, had not been started for many years. I really gave it some thought, reality set in and I passed :)

My 60 Larson is powered by a 59 Fat Fifty. I'm more interested in the cruiser the Fat Fifty is on. I'm also interested in the 80hp WestBend made motor. It has 4 coils, condensers and 4 sets of points. A lot of things to keep in order on that one.
Basically, two 40hp West Bend/Elgins stacked together.
Right now it is winter so I am dreaming until reality kicks in.
