I just saw a posting of a red G3 for sale in Arlington Heights, IL. It is listed on the Chicago Craigs List ( chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/boa/4516446895.html ).

The asking price is $ 5,000, without motor, which seems high to me but I am not familiar with G3 prices.

Looks like a decent project boat, at least it's all there. (Except the motor). I agree Kern, I think he's about $4500 too high! What say ye G3 experts?

With a motor maybe $500.00. The boat is a 63 to 67 open deck boat. It has had the interior replaced as the original back to backs had Glasspar embossed into the center of the fabric 3/4 of the way up from the seat. may or may not be glass stringers 65 to 67 were glass stringers. No paper work otherwise he would know the year. My 67 was free and in better shape when I got it. My 65 was free and it was partly restored. This would be a good project boat as it sets, if the price was around 500.00. Above that with no motor a money pit awaiting a sucker.

This is money wise a lot better than the Chi town boat. I believe this would probably do well on e-bay. The only possibly incorrect item I see is the grab handle is different than what I have seen but then Glasspar allowed their plants to buy hardware form various sources and some boats the hardware was installed by the dealers. The seats appear to be redone or new on original bases. Nice Boat

Here's a great G3 deal out in the Seattle area. Looks to be in great shape and you can ship it to Arlington Heights for a whole lot less than you'd pay for that one full of pine needles. :)
