I need measurements for the correct placement of my Glasspar decals on our 1959 G3's sponsons. Thank you.

Hello Dick Winn,
I don't believe I have ever found any printed material on the exact location of the decal. My 59 won't be ready for it's decals until next spring. The link below is from the Glassic Library for Glasspar boats. This may give you an idea. The one person who may know this information is Eddie G. over on Classic Glasspar. Eddie worked at the California Glasspar plant. That site however is experiencing some problems today.

Welcome to Fiberglassics and please post some pic's of your boat. Everyone here enjoys pictures.

I do not think there was a specified distance, but most advertising or '59-'60 photos in magazines or brochures show it as being about 3" to 5" from the end. On my G3 it was originally placed about 14" ... and I don't like it there.
Here are a few pics from brochures in the Glassic Library showing placement:

Hi Ken, didn't i send you a drawing with measurements. I cant find it in this pile but know its here:) I'll check it out tomorrow on my '60 from Santa Ana Ca. I do remember other plants placed them a bit different from each other, or maybe depended on what they were drinking or smoking:), anyway not a science... Bill..

FWIW here are a couple more pics, one is my G3 before repaint and the next is perhaps the first pic showing a G3 in a boating magazine. The decals are placed a long way up from the end.

Now I'm wondering where was the decal placed before?

Sent you pics of what i think are 60 & 59's. both very close to the transom unlike Kens Trailer Queen :)

I'm not sure the one g3 i call a '60 really is, might be a '59 also but both sets of decales are close to rear. The one I know is a '59 is real close like less than 1 1/2" (dont know where it was made), and the other less than 3" was made in santa ana ca.
