I heard recently that there was/is a g3 with 2 outboards on the transom. Can anyone confirm this and if so think we'd all lov to see pic's of that set up if possible?.

My thought is;
Maybe this was many decades ago, I have no idea, but think to do it with a large motor you would have to modify the motor well and deck width at transom to make them fit, even if its an older thin Merc, not that much room left with my 650 but might fit, something to check on? Or maybe with 2 Jack plates but don't think you'd want the weight farther out with 2 motors? As usual more questions than answers. Would be exciting to see but to operate at todays gas prices, ouch!

Jeff, you mean Mike Prisk. he's the only one I can remember that has Scott's and McCulloch's, but I dont remember seeing that g3 with 2 on it, bad memory you know!:) Hope Mike chimes in with some pic's if he's the one? :-)

18hp is more like a large kicker, thought at least 40hp each to make any sense for having two?

Yes, I remember that it inspired me to try. Two 18's are ideal, they fit the transom nicely. I tried Two 1960 rude 35's and realized that I would have to cut the deck at the transom. I did not like that idea. I still like the idea of twins. I my do it on one of mine yet with two 18's I currently have on the rack.

The G-3s that were twin engines used two 18 HP engines for a total of 36 HP? When was this posted on the forum?

twin 1961 500's would look nice. and weigh about the same as one late mod 115 or 1500.
