How hard is it to pull the deck on a double cockpit G3? The one I have had been off a few years ago and supposedly it had been kept in dry storage since the floor, stringers, and transom was replaced. I have photos of the job and the progress.
However........ I am the first person to put the boat in the water as it was sold prior to the last two owners putting it together and getting it wet.
Have only had the boat in the water for about a day total. Was looking at the transom a few days ago and it has cracked and pulled in severely where the transom bolts go through. Pulled the engine (1962 V4-75hp) and stuck a pick in the holes and the wood is rotten! Yes............I used boat life silicon in and around the bolt holes. Have mounted hundreds of engines in my career.

To separate the deck from the hull, you will need to remove the "rubber" rub rail material.
Then drill out all the fasteners (probably rivets).
Then cross-brace the hull in a way that will keep it from deforming, but give you room to complete your repairs.
Then - if the hull has never been separated or additional fiberglass attaching completed in the past,...
Behind the rubber rub rail you will find an "S" shaped area in the aluminum trim that secures the hull to the deck.
The deck will lift up out of the trim, and the hull will move down out of the trim, and you will be ready to start repairs.
AND,...When you are focusing on an elephant motor for your project,...Consider the much lighter, higher performing Mercury.

Well, once again the boat is finished. When I bought the boat it had a new floor, stringers, and transom in it. After only a few hours in the water over several months the transom was already soft.
Deck was pulled and a composite transom installed. Transom is 1" higher than it was. Spash well is now glassed in. About 2' of floor and stringers had to be replaced as well. Looks super with the glassed in splash well.
