TOPIC: Eastern N.C. Antique Boat Show

Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C. is hosting an antique boat show on Saturday April 20th, 2013 from 9:30 A.M. to
4:30P.M. at their downtown college right near the Cape Fear River.

This boat show was previously mainly for the antique wood boats, but this year antique fiberglass boats will be included. Members of the East Coast Glasspar Owners Association will be in attendance at this event. My Wife and I plan on displaying our 1960 Glasspar G-3 Skiboat.

This past weekend (Saturday April 20th) members from our "East Coast Glasspar Owners Association" attended the "Cape Fear Community College Antique Boat Show."

My Wife and I entered our 1960 Glasspar G-3 Skiboat in the event.
Although the day started out with rain, around 9:30 A.M. the rain stopped but it remained cloudy and cool most of the day. The weather definitely hurt attendance from prior years, but there was still about twenty (20) boats on display.

This was a BEAUTIFUL handmade 24' wooden boat that was built my Mr. Gerald Hurst who is now 80 years old! Mr. Hurst said he has OVER 2900 hours in this boat and uses it regularly in the Atlantic ICW:

Fully restored 1973 "Boston Whaler". The antique boat restoration company (Beau Johnson Marine Restoration, Wilmington, N.C.) said this boat was a "reclamation project" at the time they received it:
