hehe...ah yes the porpoising days. sure glad they're over. still have the waterfall though and that can't be corrected because of the tunnel hull. miss having mark around here, he was a lot of fun. ron

Hammondsport 3rd weekend every July! 11 years 2 months ago #73545

My favorite centralized location for an ACBS show is the one at Hammondsport on the southern end of Keuka Lake the 3rd weekend of every July. Keuka is a relatively small Finger Lake, is unusual as it is shaped in a "Y" and is the highest lake in elevation of all the Finger Lakes. Hammondsport was voted coolest town in the USA by some tourism magazine last year, and I agree! Also, the lake is surrounded by vineyards & wineries, brew pubs and a few distilleries. We had a great showing of folks in 2011, but I was about it last year. It would be great to see more 'glassics at this meet. The local chapter (Wine Country Classic Boats) really works hard to include 'glassics, and I will continue to promote it here!

By the way, we live south of Albany, and it's quite a trek for us, but we love the location, people and event!
