TOPIC: Chrysler 9.9

anyone know anything about this little 9.9? about what year is it?? what was the window in the top for? has a light bulb inside. did it run so quiet that you had to have a lighted window to tell if it was running?? what was the hole in the front for?? thanks john

That was one of the Autoelectric models. Should be electric start, and the light on top was a bonus feature(?). If you fish at night its handy when baiting the hook.

thanks Kerry...says autoelectric on it....motor was a tagalong with some omc stuff...don't know anything about them...was the light an option or did most have it??

I believe the electrics all had it. An added convenience, since they had to add height to the hood for the starter/generator. I'm not positive, but I seem to remember the generators being around 10 amps. BTW, the hole up front was for the ignition key switch.
