TOPIC: Mohawk runabout emblem

Hi all I've just picked up a 1958 time capsule in the form of a mohawk runabout been in storage since 1972 original cushions , outboard , and trailer the trailer even has the original tires still on it but its missing the starboard side emblem any chance anyone has one please let me know thanks

I could be wrong but I think the motor is a 1956. I believe the 30hp was a one year motor. It was 25 in 1955 and 35 in 1957.

Yes sir your right its a 1956 johnson 30hp the owner claims its the only outboard to ever be on that boat even though he also claims its a 1958 mohawk i have no clue as to tell the year of the boat but he was the original owner and bought it brand new i was confused on the year differences of boat and outboard i could only guess maybe mohawk powered there vessels with whatever they could get being they were a smaller company but I'm just guessing

Motors and a lot of the hardware back then didn't usually come with the boat. They were installed by the boat dealer. The dealer may just have had that motor in stock and unsold at the time.

Upon farther investigation and actually reading the registration it says the vessel is a 1957 so the outboard being a 1956 makes a little more sense

Found a few pics of a Mohawk 14' that I had in the 90s. It looked similar except for the rear deck. It was a 1958 also. Found a pic of the emblems, the white arrow was on a later fiberglass model..
