TOPIC: The only Aluminum in the fleet

The only Aluminum in the fleet 9 years 1 month ago #106745

I'm a Chris Craft restorer. Actually more of a rescuer/resurrect-er of Corsair Sportboats. However, I'm lucky enough to have the 64 Grumman my grandfather bought brand new. Had sat in my dads barn since the mid eighties unused and unloved. My grandfather insisted on an aluminum Grumman because that's what he flew in WW2!
A couple years back I decided to drag her out and give her an easy makeover. The smile on dads face was priceless. Mine was pretty big too. We thought about getting rid of her but thought better of it. Grandpa Al, a true American Hero passed away a couple weeks ago and man am I glad I held on to that Grumman.
We bring her up to the Oginquit River in maine summers now for slow cruises and a bit of Striper fishing.

Outstanding!

BTW, sorry for the loss of your grandfather. That Grumman looks priceless to me.

Great looking Grumman!

Sorry for your loss, but I'm sure he's watching you enjoy his boat
