I picked this up over New Years weekend.
Compression at 1./116, 2./122, 3./114, 4./124.
Looks good so far. It has pretty good spark also.
Starter turned real well for com. test.
I got it on a Glasspar Avalon. I am junking the boat,so if anyone is interested in the hardware off of the boat let me know.
Is that the factory block seal?
I got the boat, trailer, motor, controls, and all of the snow for $150.00.

Another great find Neil, good job. That looks like the factory seal, but the nuts and bolt heads look like they might have been removed at one time? (Slightly rounded off, or just the paint knocked off the edges?) Hard to say, but the compression numbers don't look bad at all. ;)

The top cowl was painted silver. I took some zip strip and started to remove the paint and underneath is a cowl with the Mark 58 markings. Looks to be the Matador color. The lower cowl is burghandy as is the face plate. Looking like a pieced together Merc., which matters not to me. I will post some pics of what I found tomorrow.
I also will further inspect the bolts and see what Mark pointed out.
The lead tab on the seal has a "K" stamped into it.
Could this be an unopened case??
