TOPIC: Lord help me. I was given a Shell Lake 14 foot

I was given a 14 foot Shell Lake fiberglass runabout. I know nothing about it. It seems in good shape and was in the water last in 2007. Came with a 57 Evinrude 35hp with the generator...and controls. It has the semi divided cockpit...and the seats need to be replaced, but are currently wood.

The gelcoat is rough, but the transom seems very hard and sound, and the boat appeares very solid.

Wife wants one or the other gone. Keep the Alumacraft FDR or the Shell Lake?

I will post photos later, but invite you to help a newby out with any info on thses boats.

Been there, did that, sorry to hear about your situation. (Still miss the Cutter, wondering if maybe it wouldn't have been better to get rid of HER!) Just kidding, kinda. Let us see some pics when you get a chance.

We actually agree that 3 boats is a bit much. One is a real classic wooden boat...so it stays. They can have the house first!

I kinda like this little Shell Lake. It's not too big and seems in great shape. Needs some love. I was never really overly attached to the Alumacraft.

Wonder how these boats ride?
