im pretty happy with them, but one has a small hole under the front, ill see if they will take it back, but i sure like the looks of them, the silver really shines, now im wondering if i should put two in the back?or make my own bench seat?here are some pics.i plan on painting the boat to match.

Pretty slick John! I'd put them in the back too if I were you.

Well, john, I'm gonna vote the other way, and suggest you build a bench for the back, since you can get the matching vinyl. I usually see 4 matching seats done in a 'quickie' interior redo. Usually retrofitting for fishing, in any type of craft. I don't have a problem with a glassic being modified, but the look of the bench will be more appropriate to the vintage lines of your Cutter.

I vote for the bench in back as well, especially if you can get the matching vinyl. I kind of wish I had done a bench in the front for looks, but I like the buckets for functionality and since it's a daily driver, I went with the functionality.

Found a guy to do the bench for $150, I know I could have done it myself, but for the time savings I just had it done.

john, beautiful seats. even though thats what i preffered to do because of ease to gas tank, the bench would look better.
dave..$150 for back seat???? was that for the frame and upholstery. man i must of got ripped off BIGTIME. i paid $500 for just the upholstery on the original frame. the front seat the same. :(

$150 for the upholstery and padding, I had the seat frames ready.

My wife told me I got ripped off, she could do it for $xx.

I don't care, at least it got done...lol...

John, That's a good deal for the seats but I have to go with the bench seat also. You do excellent work and I think it would look more vintage, not to mention the extra room for another rider if necessary.

ok ,its looking like making a bench seat is winning out,i was just looking at the savings, but that wont help me if i want it to look good, and thanks for the compliments and suggestions ,it really helps,i know where i can get folding seat hindges.
,at 1st i was planing on using a jeep cj rear seat and upholstering it,but it might not fit right.im better off doing it myself,i hope, lol.

boy labor rates sure are cheap in buffalo compared to no.jersey. i shouldn't be surprised though. i remember a survey a few years ago that had my county (bergen) listed as one of the top ten richest in the nation. don't know how the hell i belong here. so i guess its all relevant. maybe because my seats are rolled and pleated. would that make it that much more?

Believe me I got quotes in the $400 range as well, but I shopped around and was referred to this guy by some of the guys in the local ACBS club. I thought he was very reasonable. He wouldn't have charged me that much more for the pleating, maybe another $100. He and his son do the work in a shop in the basement of their house. I'll definitely use him again on the Sun Ray.

I like the look of buckets in the front and bench in the back. Something I will consider for my boat when I'm ready.
