OK folks, Here is the family boat. It has not run since 1995. The motor is stuck. It is for sale for a couple of hundred bucks with no takers.

Is this one worth saving. I don't know the brand. The motor is a 85 Evenrude. I think it is still solid.

I don't know if I have the time, energy, or money.

Bob

Is there a photo somewhere? Every boat brand seems to have a fan club of some kind. Heck, the motor, just for parts should be worth $100.

It looks pretty good in the picture. Someone needs to buy this before I have another project!

I would have guessed MFG... but the gunwales aren't high enough.
Look for a tag on the inside of the transom up under the splashwell area...

Boat is most likely an early to mid 60's. The stepped lapstrake hull looks "Starcrafty"... if that is even a word...LOL

Is it worth saving???
As a cheap solid little runabout... sure.
As a collectors item- probably not...

My MFG is no collectors prize... but it's a great family boat to play in. Easy to work on, inexpensive, lots of room for fishing or just cruising...

Can you post some pictures of the dash area and the splashwell area? Might just have a buyer!

Sure is close to a Starcraft but I don't think it is! On the tag can you make out the model? I think M.F.G. boats are simmular to the Starcraft.

The model listed on the tag is "15' Glass". How creative of the maker!!!

If that bow light is original, Starcraft. It is identical to mine.

Well....15'Glass, suggests that perhaps the manufacturer also made a 15' wood, or 15'Aluminum. Otherwise, why note a totally obvious characteristic unless it was to be recorded in a sales journal where the number of boats and their hull material could later be compared to see buying trends.

Just a thought... :)

I think that might be a "state" issue tag.

Hi folks, A few loose ends. The boat is in the Kansas City area (Leavenworth). The boat is a 1965 and was purchased by my father in the l967 or so time frame. The tag was in place when purchased. If nothing else I think I stired up some interest!

How about a picture closer to the dash and steering wheel? Is their a name embossed in the white step pads?
