TOPIC: Help ID my new boat please

Help ID my new boat please 13 years 8 months ago #13793

I have no idea what this is. It has no markings anywhere. It was last registered as "Manufacturer unknown". Im not even sure if the Berkeley is original.

Tough one - has the look of the later small Buehler Turbocrafts, but the buehlers used their Hamilton Jet drives, not Berkelys. Is there any capacity plate or any serial numbers on the transom?

The shape of the deck screams CorrectCraft... but the hull just isn't right,
Then I thought early Sea-Ray... but their motor covers are not that elaborate.
I definately think the "boat" is from '65-'69 at the latest (windshield, hardware, cleats). No telling when the Berkley was installed... but it appears to be a factory motor cover.

HMMMMMMM.........

Very nice piece you have there though...

Cheeta maybe? Saw one on Classic Boathouse forum once. Looks just like it. Built somewhere in Calif. Might try searching the C.B. forum posts. Good Luck and have fun with it. Nice boat!

Update--Just searched it myself and found it in C.B. forum but don't know how to post the link. I'm not exactly on the cutting edge of hi-tech :( Anyway it has the Berkely jet and looks just like it to me.

There is nothing on the transom. It is possible that the transom has been replaced because the original trim is missing and the fiberblass material looks different on the inside. I wonder if this boat may have originally been a I/O. The motor cover looks original.

I went to the site and was unable to find a Cheeta. Is that the model or manufacturer? Thanks for your interest!

Thanks for the pics. Are they built by Century? What does the "18 mustang" mean? I'm not having much luck with internet searches. I am getting closer with you help. Thanks!

I believe Cheeta is the manufacturer, Mustang is one of the models. Go to Classic BOathouse dicussion forum and click the search button in the upper right part of the page. Type in cheeta in the box then click the first post that you see. There are also pics of some other similar models. Hope this helps

You might try Colorado Wildlife and Parks. It has a regesteration number from Colorado (CL).

I already did, and it was last registered as manufacturer "unknown". I did not realize that you could do that. Seems like its pointless to register it if you don't know the manufacturer or S/N.
