Switzer wings are the most amazing glass race boats ever built IMHO. They use two sponsons and an adjustable aerloron (sp?) to fly the boat. At the Antique Race Boat Regatta there were two Switzer wings side by side. I only know of 3. One has been powered, the other waiting for power. Both are fully rebuilt. Some amazing photos, but this boat could not begin to stretch out on the course that was set. This boat needs flat water for 1 to 2 miles. That said, the Molinari driven by Brian Pitt kept up nicely with the Switzer the entire course. You got the impression though that if the Switzer could have been let out for a distance it would have easily taken the Molinari. What a great weekend.

Quite the marvels of nautical engineering, with a touch of aviation influence to keep them from going airborne I'm guessing. I noticed the "speedster" gearcases, but what is the open hole above them?

C.B. : Nice report. Look forward to more pics. Is the 3rd wing you know about my Orange friend from Knoxville.? JJ - 88 . Dont think it had been sold, but someone asked me a year ago .! Heard that the port side prop needs to counter rotate to keep a straight track above 80 mph , if anyone test drives one for sale.

Well, that makes four of them - gotta be a few more out there, too. Miss Diablo is the one that was at the RBR two years ago.

We had a great time at the show - got some good runs in all three days in the ol' C-stocker with the 1957 Mercury Mark 30H.
Here's some video:

Hopefully Brian will have the Miss Isle refined and ready for short course action in two years! ;)

Rich said there was video of his wing running at Clayton.

Anyone know where that is?

clayton was a great chance to have the 2 boats together- next year I hope to have the boat rigged and hope to attend more events with Rich and possibly Kenny- wouldn't it be nice to see 3 or more in the water and running at one time !

I had planned on going to Lake George with Rich ,but, since my motors aren't mounted yet I decided not to take the boat there( 8 hr drive for me I believe) -since it could not get in water- maybe next year!

Try this:

For users on Windows XP, there is a FREE powertoy available directly from Microsoft specifically used for resizing images.

All is takes is a simple right click on any image file or multiple files, and you can select to reduce the image to any resolution you desire. It either reduces the original, or makes a copy of it depending on what you wish. A painless way to resize images in seconds.

Screenshot of the Image Resizer powertoy 'advanced' menu options is shown below.

I used this image resizer multiple times every day with windows XP. Quick & easy.

You can get it here .... direct from Bill Gates himself:

ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe (521 KB)

There is some additional tutorials/info here:

Resize digital pictures quickly

Hope that helps.

p.s. I have not found an easy 'right-click to resize' option for multiple files within Vista or Win7 yet.
