It looks like a jet ski that you sit IN, not ON. It's probably a lot of fun on calm water, real dicey in chop.

There are 2 for sale in CT. One with the motor and drive and one without. The place that has them is closing down and they would probably go cheap

Really neat project. Wish I had something that small to work on. Seems everything I acquire needs oodles of work and lots of space to do it in. Wonder what that would be like if the powerhead was swapped with a 3 banger 70hp???

We work on all sizes of boats and know what you mean . A larger engine would be fun to try , here are some new pics of the tear down .

Re:Front Drive boat Hydro-Mite 8 years 8 months ago #121228

It's absolutely beautiful I have one as well however i noticed some difrences between mine and yours first of all my hydro-mite has a engine in the rear and it has pillar thing-a-ma-jig on the bottom were it has a propeller i think it might be the hydroplane model what i do know is it's extremely hard to sink mine was sunk when it had five people on it (how did they all fit!!?) and it went between two pontoon boats and their wake sank it in lake michigan however one of the people on the boat grabbed one of the handles on it while someone on the pontoon boat threw her a rope and proceeded to tow her and the boat to shore my dad said he had a friend in Michigan who rented out speed boats and when the people went over their time and needed to be brought in he would use a hydro-mite of the same make with the same engine and prop (thats what you call a propeller right?) in order to CHASE THEM DOWN this make i have is extremely fast and from what little I've managed to gleam from the internet and family it's very stable (more than anything mine got flipped not sunk)rugged and has even been used on a regular basis on the ocean (near shore) even in choppy water it's very stable i can't wait to restore mine! :)
