back to back boat seats 9 years 7 months ago #101213

Hello fellow boat enthusiast,
does anybody out there recognize these boat seats? they are in a 1961 hydro Swift Landau I don't believe they are factory seats, sure could use some help finding out who made the seats. Thanks for any help.

Welcome aboard Jim. Can't help with the mfg of the seats, but it sure is a pretty interior!

I don't know for sure, but they certainly look like they are more then likely Hydro Swift's original seats. From the Hydro Swift FG Library pages:

Possibly re-upholstered, but the seat shape & seat base style all look correct to me.

Jin Bouy,

WELCOME ABOARD.

Sadly, I seriously doubt that you will ever KNOW who made those seats as there were literally THOUSANDS of "outside contractors", who made things for the boat-building companies.
(Some of those contractors were a one or 2 person operation.)

yours, satx

I appreciate all of your responses,
I guess what I'm trying to say is the boat seats in the picture I downloaded, the frames are made of what looks like fiberglass knowing how much work it is to build a mold to produce those frames I would think they were in a major brand boat builder and someone might recognize them. I find it hard to believe that those were made only for one boat.( I could be wrong!) I as well as most of you have spent many hours searching the web and have never seen a pair of seats like these. I own an all original 1961 hydro Swift Landau and my seats are on wooden platforms fiberglassed into the bottom of the boat with metal springs in the cushions like old car seats. Was that common?
Again I appreciate all of your kind words and helpful responses.
