There is NO CHARGE for boat participation and docking is available on Saturday (August 5th). Awards will be given at 3pm for the following three categories: President’s Award, People’s Choice, and Oldest Boat.
The day starts at 10AM with the Mayor’s Cup race between the Detroit Boat Club Crew and the Canadian team. The teams will race their racing sculls from the Detroit Yacht Club to the Detroit Boat Club.
During the day, spectators can enjoy the classic boat show which will be both in-water and on-land.
In addition, everyone is encouraged to explore the beautiful Belle Isle as it has been given new life by the DNR and the Belle Isle Conservancy. Make a stop at the Dossin Museum, the Aquarium, the Nature Zoo, and the Conservatory. Each visit will garner a stamp in your passport. Submit your passport for review at the Detroit Boat Club and earn a special prize. Families may participate in a hands-on miniature wood boat building craft and wooden boat race.
