If you have never made the trip to Clayton for the longest running antique boat show in North America, it is time that you cross it off your bucket list! Over 100 boats on display in water and on land in addition to regular Museum exhibits! Shop the nautical Marketplace vendors for everything from much needed spare boat parts to fine nautical jewelry and art.
Boaters are encouraged to arrive Thursday August 3 to launch their boats and set up their displays. Those new to the St. Lawrence River can learn a safe path to navigate the Islands during our Exhibitors Cruise, led by Museum boats. Thursday evening features a casual Welcome Reception with light snacks and beverages, giving everyone a chance to say hello to old friends and forge new connections.
Visitors to the show tour the Museum grounds Friday and Saturday from 9 AM – 5 PM and Sunday from 9 AM – 1 PM; the Museum remains open until 5 PM Sunday but show activities conclude at 1 PM. Throughout the weekend there will be forums and demonstrations, boat rides, crafts and activities for kids, and the opportunity to row a St. Lawrence Skiff.
The team of volunteer judges will make their rounds on Saturday to review entries submitted for judging.
Looking for your next project? Bring your checkbook and stake out a spot at the boat auction, held Saturday August 5 at 1 PM! The ABM is proud to partner with Antique Boat America to offer everything from turn-key show winners to affordable projects that you can squeeze into your garage.
Don’t miss out on delicious meals offered by a local favorite, The Clipper Inn: Saturday evening’s dinner held in the ABM Tent is a chance to unwind, enjoy a waterfront meal, and walk the docks after the crowds have gone home. After dinner join the crowd on Mary Street for a FREE block dance! On Sunday morning The Clipper Inn is back to serve delicious brunch. Tickets purchased in advance are required for both Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch. At 10:30 AM Sunday the Awards Ceremony will begin.
At 12 PM Sunday we encourage all in water boats to participate in the Grand Parade, marking the conclusion of the Antique Boat Show. Led by our Clayton Fire Department’s rescue boat, Last Chance, and the Museum’s in-water fleet, the parade is a historic event allowing crowds gathered on the Museum campus and across waterfront of downtown Clayton to admire and wave farewell to the show exhibitors.
