Antique and Classic Boat Rendezvous

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; Join us for the Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous, a dazzling display of high-quality antique and classic vessels including cruisers, sailboats and runabouts. An award competition recognizes excellence in restoration, authenticity and workmanship. Approximate 35 classic vessels create a colorful gathering along the Museum’s waterfront all day Saturday and Sunday morning.
Boat Parade
Sunday at 12:30p.m., the classic vessels depart Mystic Seaport to take part in a jubilant, three-mile parade down the historic Mystic River. Each boat will be announced on the shore at Mystic River Park as it passes through the iconic bascule bridge. The boats and their costumed crews will make their way down river to Fishers Island Sound in what has become a highlight of the Mystic summer season.
This year, in honor of the 85th anniversary of the Museum’s own schooner BRILLIANT, we will feature Sparkman & Stephens vessels. Design #12, BRILLIANT was one of Olin Stephens’ earliest designs. She was launched in 1932 in City Island, N.Y. As one of the longest running sail training programs in the country, she has carried more than 10,000 students aboard. We look forward to having Sparkman & Stephens here to help us honor the featured class.
