Holy crap has it been a year since I posted!?!?!!!?!? Well I left Northrop Grumman and started back at my old company from Maryland but get to work from home and travel to where testing is needed. It's been keeping me pretty busy but I have been getting stuff done on the Resorter. I need to get this damn thing dome before I can'e even get in it to launch and use it!
So I did get her flipped over and here is her surrent state. Back deck beams and battens are done. Got the fron beams in and the batten beds routed out with the new toy. I'm finishing getting the battens all cut in, then removing it all to CPES it and permamnetly install it. If you look in the bilge, the deck wedges and out support beams are there, They have to be CPES'd and installed permanently also.
I'm also going to make wedges for the intermediate frames and make 'horse shoes' for the intermediate frames, that attach to the Chines. This prevents the tabs from cracking/breaking, which was notorious on these back in the day.

Definitely further than when you last posted. Looking good. New toys are always fun to play with. I have a local friend who is rebuilding a Century that he wanted to get done to take his little daughters water skiing, they were in grade school, One of the girls is married now and the other just graduated college so you're right on schedule.
Good to see you back.

Are you still hanging on to that 350? Just staring at it should give you some motivation.

Hey Cal sorry been busy. Yeah I guess I'm right on schedule then. LOL. Yes I am going to drop that 350 in. It's still all in parts, in bags around the shop. I didn't want to put it together yet, if I did I'd have to run it every couple days blah blah, so I'm leaving it in bags til I'm ready. Don't remember if I told you but I picked up those virtec heads from Janand had them gone over. Running the numbers with those heads and the cam I have (mercruiser style cam) I will probably have about 350/355hp. :)

Hey Bob:
I haven't been on here in several months. Your Century looks great...so great that it looks like I did the work! Just got the last boat I'll ever restore out the door. I'm now officially retired. Rather than sit around watching Laverne and Shirley reruns, I bought another restoration project...a rail speeder. It's one of those things that used to be a railroad inspection car but pickup trucks with retractable train wheels made them obsolete. Running them is a big hobby now. (narcoa.org) The body of the one I bought is total junk so I'm going to build a "woody" body...white oak, Honduran mahogany and ribbon sapele...a good use of the leftover lumber in the shop.

Hey Jan, how are you going to make it float??

We know you will make it over the top like all your other projects.

Jan that is going to be an awesome project. Can wait to see the progress and final outcome! Making it a woody is a fantastic idea!
