TOPIC: new member, new boat. '61 Delany catamaran

Re:new member, new boat. '61 Delany catamaran 11 years 3 days ago #87489

jgouras,
Your hull has a WAZ hull number - are you in Washington??
I have attached a few pictures of a steering system I fabricated for a small PowerCat with twin 400 Mercs.
Some of the PowerCat guys have some very sweet steering set-ups too, but I don't have their permission to post their pixs.
The turquoise & white hull is a Delany Cat with twin 55A? Mercs.
The red & white PC runs 50 MPH gps.

Everybody has an opinion but 6cyl mercs look and sound and run like you need,I cheated and put newer power trim on them, these are 100hp but I have others,This has a powercat STYLE bottom, but it is a little different,I have a couple cats and they are similar but this runs 50mph at 5200rpm,,it is a 17 1/2 ft ,I think twin omc under 50hp would just be a lot of weight,,Maybe hi 30s,,,every body has an opinion Bill

Is that Delany nameplate on a boat you have now? I am buying a restored 1959 Delany Powercat and would love to find an original nameplate for it... Thanks John
