According to his Jan. 11, 2007 obituary in the Chicago Tribune, Joseph T. O'Connor was owner of Sea-Jeep Inc. from 1966 to 1970. This obituary also listed him as "inventor of the pre-cursor to the wave-runner, "Sea Jeep" in 1965". Additional information is needed to warrant this claim as Hydro-Mite Boats, a very similar style boat were in production in Florida about this time.
