Vollrath Viking Marine Hardware
The Vollrath Company
Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Vollrath was one of the few marine hardware manufacturers to offer deck hardware made of cast stainless steel. Before entering the recreational boating equipment industry, The Vollrath Copmany made stainless steel surgical instruments. The Vollrath line of marine hardware, featuring design by Clifford Brooks Stevens, was standard on boats made by Cutter and Owens. Hardware was also available in kit form for home-builders, dealers, and purchasers of factory unfitted boats. Besides deck hardware, Vollrath is also noted for their highly-styled steering wheels.
In 1960, Vollrath advertised "Vi-Matic" mechanical steering and announced that their steering systems were standard on Bryant Boats.
