Newport Boats were introduced for the 1958 model year. A January 1958 ad lists Eddie Meltzer as the contact person for those seeking more information about Newport Boats. In that year, Newport showed its boats at the New York Boat Show. This ad also touted that Newport Boats were designed by Lawrence Kean and Richard Ketcham. Meltzer formerly worked with Crosby Boats.
